Super Eagles’ versatile player, Semi Ajayi has disclosed he would love to replicate his goal-scoring heroics with the national team following his performance for Rotherham United, AOIFootball.com reports.

The 25-year-old told AOIFootball.com in an exclusive interview from his base in the UK, that he was excited to deliver for his team and hopes he would one day replicate the same form for Nigeria.

“I have just been finding myself in positions where I’m able to score more frequently and I’m happy that I’ve been able to put them away and help the team.

“Definitely, I think every player’s dream is to score for his country one day and that would be a great honour if I was able to do so. If it happens to come in a crucial game then that would be even better,” Ajayi enthused.

Since his deployment to the holding midfielder role from his centre-back role, the former Cardiff City player has found the net four times since the turn of the year with his two strikes over the weekend earning Rotherham their first win since New Year’s day, ending a run of nine consecutive games without a victory.
