Former Dream Team skipper, Azubuike Okechukwu is happy about Rizespor’s recent run of form which has seen them climb out of the relegation zone after a disastrous first half of the season, AOIFootball.com reports.

The 21-year-old joined Rizespor during the winter transfer on loan from Egyptian side Pyramid FC and has become an instant hit with the club, helping them to four wins in his first five matches which has seen them move to 11th on the log.

He admitted to AOIFootball.com exclusively, that although they remain happy with their recent form, the players will not be carried away as they remain determined to win as many games as possible before the end of the season.

“It’s a great feeling, knowing I’m also part of the recent good performances of the club.

“The target is to be stable and avoid relegation. The points from the drop zone are close, so we just want to win more games and ensure we remain upon the log table,” Azubuike said.

Having battled to just one win in the first half of the season, Rizespor have now won six of their last eight fixtures to place 11th, four points above 16th placed Goztepe which occupies the last relegation slot.
