Super Eagles’ fast-rising winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has been modest about the rave reviews he is getting at the moment, saying he will continue to work hard to better his career, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Villarreal of Spain youngster, who was hosted by Abia State governor on his return from the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations where Nigeria won bronze, told AOIFootball.com exclusively that he was grateful for the experience in Egypt and wants to keep developing his game.
“I have not started playing football yet because last season was just my first full season as a first-team player. Now I want to continue to improve my game and learn more on and off the field of play.
“The Nations Cup in Egypt was a big honour for me because it was my first senior competition with the national team and winning the bronze medal even made it special. Now I just want to focus on the future and get more chances to represent Nigeria,” Chukwueze said.
After a stellar season with Spanish side Villarreal, the 20-year-old represented Nigeria at the 2019 AFCON, featuring in six of the Eagles seven matches.
