Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho arrived in Poland for the first time to team up with new club Omonia Nicosia after sealing a season-long loan deal from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 20-year-old joined the club during the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, opting to remain in Cyprus after a brief spell at another Cyprus outfit Anorthosis Famagusta which he joined in the second half of the 2018/2019 season.
“Happy to join my new team for preseason,” Uzoho posted minutes after training with the team at the Hotel Mistra Sport in Bydoszcyz Poland.
The Eagles shot-stopper further went ahead to inform his critics that he can only get better and would continue to ensure he makes his fans proud.
“I’m not going anywhere, but I will only get better. So you can slide into my DM and say whatever you like, but fasten your seatbelts and get ready because it’s going to be a long ride, but I can assure you that I’ll make you proud and won’t count all your hurtful words now,” Uzoho said.
With former first-choice goalkeeper Tomas Mejias returning to parent club Middlesbrough after the expiration of his loan deal, the Nigerian will now fight it with the duo of Constantinos Panagi and Alexandros Antoniou for who mans the post for Omonia this season.
