Super Eagles winger, Alex Iwobi has joined the legendary league of Nigerians to head to the Blue side of Merseyside after sealing a five-year deal from Arsenal on the last day of the English transfer window, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 23-year-old will follow in the ranks of Super Eagles greats Daniel Amokachi who won the FA Cup with Everton whilst defender Joseph Yobo remains a household name in the club after becoming the first outfield player to play all league games for Everton in a single EPL season.
Iwobi, who brings creativity, youthfulness and flair to Everton, arrives as the club’s highest transferred player this summer with his fee of £38 million pounds eclipsing the €27.5 million euro Everton paid Juventus for striker Moise Kean.
The Nigerian, who came through the ranks at Arsenal also becomes the Gunners’ record sale eclipsing the fee Liverpool paid for Alex Oxlade Chamberlin in the summer of 2017.
Iwobi will officially join the rest of his teammates on Friday and could be in a running to make his debut 24 hours later when Everton travel to London to face Crystal Palace.
