Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi could make his first competitive action in eight months after returning in time for Trabzonspor weekend clash at home to Yeni Malatyaspor, AOIFootball.com reports.

The 26-year-old last tasted action in December of 2018 after suffering a raptured achilles tendon which kept him out for the rest of the season, forcing him to also miss Nigeria’s bronze medal triumph at the AFCON in Egypt.

Having now fully recovered from the injury, the former Lazio of Italy midfielder trained with the rest of the squad on Friday and will now hope to prove his fitness level ahead of their first home game of the season.

Considered to be one of the dark horses in the Turkish League this season, Europa League hopefuls Trabzonspor will host their first league home game of the season and it could be a perfect return for Onazi and the fans.
