Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho began the 2019/2020 season debut for Cyprus side Omonia Nicosia on a high in their 2-0 win away at Doxa Katokopias, AOIFootball.com reports.

The 20-year-old joined the club on loan from Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna and was expectedly thrown between the sticks as he hoped for a better season after a torrid 2017/2018 for both club and country.

First half strikes from Matt Derbyshire and another in the second from Eric Bautheac ensured Omonia began the season on a good note and will now hope to consolidate on the result as they vie for. European position this term.

The performance comes as a morale booster for Uzoho who will be hoping to regain his number one spot in the national team having played third fiddle at last month’s AFCON in Egypt.
