Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, FC IfeanyiUbah will not be going for the services of a new coach for the upcoming season, AOIFootball.com can confirm.
Chairman of the club, Chukwuma Ubah, who spoke exclusively to AOIFootball.com, said the management of the team have thrown their weight behind young coach Okagbue to succeed.
“It is not in our plans to hire a coach as we believe in the ability of Coach Okagbue to achieve success going forward.
“His first season as the head coach of the team was a revelation, and there is room for improvement,” Ubah said.
It would be recalled that FC IfeanyiUbah finished 6th on the log last season after the NPFL Championship playoffs, and the astute football administrator believes it was an improvement compared to the previous season, and he feels the best way to reward him is to extend his contract at the club.
“Our performance last season was actually better than we had performed the previous season and we attribute it to the coach’s expertise,” he said.
“We have decided to him with an improved contract extension, as a result,” Chukwuma Ubah concluded.
