Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen continued his 100% scoring record at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy as he scored for the fifth consecutive outing as Lille narrowly lost 1-2 to Chelsea on match day two of the Champions League, AOIFootball.com reports.

In a match that pitched two of the most promising strikers of Nigerian root, both Osimhen and Abraham were given the nod to lead the lines for their respective clubs despite failing to find the net on opening day.

But it was the birthday boy Tammy Abraham that got Chelsea in front on 22 minutes when he expertly controlled a cross from Fikayo Tomori before tucking home for 1-0.

Osimhen then replied with a goal of his own as he headed Lille level on 33 minutes after lifting above the Chelsea defenders to convert a corner from Jonathan Bamaba.

The 21-year-old was then involved in a brawl with Blues captain Cesar Azpilicueta minutes later before Lille were let off the hook just before half time when Jorginho’s curling strike hit the outside of the goal post.

Both teams however came into the second half with real determination but it was Osimhen who looked likely to break the deadlock as he was denied by the quickness of Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The visitors however took the lead 13 minutes from time when substitute Hudson-Odoi found Willian who marked his 300th Chelsea appearance with an exquisite finish to seal all three points for Chelsea.

Osimhen will however take plenty of courage from his performance as he completed a perfect week for Nigerian players in the UCL this week following Emmanuel Dennis’ brace on Tuesday night against Real Madrid.
