Super Eagles Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has shifted his focus to next month’s AFCON 2021 qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho after his team’s impressive outing against five-time world champions Brazil in a friendly game, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Franco-German, who remains unbeaten since leading the Eagles to a bronze medal finish at the 2019 AFCON, told his close associates that he already knows what his team will look like for the clash and will monitor every player to ensure they remain up to speed in their respective clubs.
Rohr further revealed that his team are very much determined to begin the qualifiers on a winning note and will approach their opener against Benin and Lesotho like a cup final.
The Eagles gaffer also went on to shower praises on the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation after they organized what he described as excellent friendly matches for the squad.
Nigeria will begin their quest to reach yet another AFCON when they host the Squirrels of Benin at the newly refurbished Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City on November 11.
They then travel to Maseru eight days later to face the Crocodiles of Lesotho at the 20,000 capacity Setsoto Stadium hoping to clinch a possible six points from their opening two games.
