Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen was once again the catalyst behind French club Lille after he propelled them to a shock 1-0 win at the Parc Olympique to move up 4th on the log, AOIFootball.com reports.
Still without an away league goal this season, the Lille top scorer led the line for Christophe Galtier boys as they hoped to leapfrog their hosts who also had in-form Memphis Depay leading the line.
But despite the hosts dominating the opening exchanges, both teams failed to find the breakthrough in the first 45 minutes of the encounter as they headed for the break goalless.
The visitors, however, grew into the game in the second period and went ahead with only their first shot on goal when Osimhen’s clever flick set up Jonathan Ikone and the midfielder fired past the goalkeeper from the edge of the box to seal the victory for Lille.
Osimhen did, however, miss out on the man of the match award by a whisker after he ended the clash with a rating of 7.2 as he did plenty of defensive work to help his side to the important victory.
