Super Eagles sensation, Victor Osimhen has hinted there is more to come from him in the new year after a successful 2019 which saw him shine for both club and country to become one of the most deadliest forwards across Europe’s top five leagues, AOIFootball.com reports.

The Lille of France forward, who is currently holidaying in Nigeria, further assured his fans and well wishers that he will continue to strive hard to ensure he keeps doing well for both club and country.

“The year was a very high one for me but I want to keep doing well for both club and country. Although there will be hard times sometimes and criticisms, I’m really looking forward to doing well in the new year and surpass what I did in this year,” Osimhen stated.

The forward also gave his verdict on being named in the final shortlist for the CAF young player of the year, stating that it would be an honor to clinch the award.

“Any of us can win the award. I think we deserved it we had a very fantastic year but I am also looking forward to winning it,” Osimhen concluded.

Having won the award in 2015, the 20-year-old will be hoping to beat current holder Achraf Hakimi and fellow countryman Samuel Chukwueze to the coveted prize next month.

Osimhen scored an incredible 31 goals in all competitions for club and country whilst also chipping in 9 assists and was by far one of the continent’s most lethal forwards behind the duo of Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane.
