Head Coach of Heartland FC of Owerri, Fidelis Ilechukwu has said that the number of away wins in the Nigeria Professional Football League this season is a clear indication the league is on the right course, AOIFootball.com reports.

Speaking after his team’s 2-0 shock win away at Enyimba on Wednesday, the former MFM FC coach believes the League Management Company, the body saddled with the responsibility of running the league has done so much and should be commended.

“ The number of away wins in the league is a testament to the improvement of the league. I think we should commend the LMC for a good job while we still expect more improvement,” Ilechukwu told Brila FM.

Ilechukwu’s team surprised 8 times champions Enyimba in a Match Day 14 encounter after an impressive 2-0 win at the Aba International Stadium. Other teams that won away included Rangers International who defeated Warri Wolves 2-1 at the Warri Township Stadium, and Kwara United who ended Akwa United’s winning streak at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo  with a 2-0 win.
