It was a sweet-bitter feeling for Nigerian players in the 4th round of the English FA Cup with Kelechi Iheanacho once again rising to the occasion for Leicester City whilst Semi Ajayi was sent off in his side’s win on the road, AOIFootball.com reports.
Kelechi Iheanacho: Starting his first FA Cup game of the campaign, the on-form striker made it 7 goals in as many appearances for the Foxes this season when he scored the only goal of the match to propel Leicester City to 1-0 win over Brentford.
The 23-year-old was replaced after the hour mark as he earned a game rating of 7.3 with compatriot Wilfred Ndidi not included in the matchday squad.
Semi Ajayi: The Eagles center-back started for West Bromwich Albion as they shocked EPL side West Ham United 1-0 at the London Stadium to move into the 5th round of the FA Cup.
The Nigerian, however, picked up a second yellow 18 minutes from time but his blushes were spared by Conor Townsend’s first half strike with the Baggies sealing a 1-0 win on the road.
Meanwhile, on Friday, it was not a pleasant night for the duo of Eberechi Eze and Bright-Osayi-Samuel who were both in action for QPR as they crashed out in the hands of Sheffield Wednesday after going down 2-1.
