Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem has expressed his desire to continue his career development in the Spanish La Liga beyond the 2019/2020 season, AOIFootball.com reports.

Awaziem, who featured for the entire match duration of his side’s 5-0 thrashing in the hands of Barcelona on Thursday in the Copa del Rey, further stated that the league is technically sound compared to his stint in Portugal and France.

“I think I would love to continue playing in Spain because the football here improves my game and I enjoy playing in one of the best leagues in the world, playing against big teams and top players and getting to even do better than them makes me a better player.

“The Spanish League is more technical compared to the French League which was more physical and aggressive because of the inflow of black players; you have to fight for every ball. The Portuguese League was also technical but the Spanish League supersedes it,” Awaziem opined.

The 23-year-old his currently on loan at Leganes from FC Porto but could now fancy finally settling down in Spain after series of loan switches to France and Turkey where he played for Nantes and Caykur Rizespor.
