Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu is optimistic Nigeria will be very much ready for next month’s AFCON qualifiers doubleheader, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Bordeaux of France player, who spoke exclusively to AOIFootball.com, stated that the Eagles remain committed towards AFCON qualification and will not underrate their opponents despite topping the group with six points.
“For our game against Sierra Leone next month, we are topping the group with 6 points already and we believe we can win more games to qualify for the next Nation’s Cup because it’s very important for us as players and the country.
“We won’t take them lightly even though on paper we look favourites. We will just go all out like our previous two games against the Benin Republic and Lesotho and try to get maximum points. We have done it before so we can still achieve it again with hard work,” Kalu said.
The Super Eagles are top of Group L with 6 points from their opening two Games, 3 better than second-placed Benin and could become the first team to land in Cameroon should they complete a double over Sierra Leone in March.
