Former Super Eagles winger, Emmanuel Amuneke has expressed confidence in the ability of his new team Misr El-Makkasa to beat the drop after leading them to a 1-1 draw at home to El-Entag El-Harby, AOIFootball.com reports.
The Nigerian joined the club on a deal till the end of the current campaign and began his reign with a morale-boosting point and now believes they can take inspiration from it and fight their way through survival.
“It was a difficult match for both teams; we started on a good note and I believe that will help us escape relegation. It’s a gentle process but the whole squad is united on a common goal, Amuneke said.
The former Tanzania head coach must now do more to lead his side to a win after 13 league games, having last won a league game on matchday 4 of the 17- week old league campaign.
El-Makkasa currently sits 16th on the log with 14 points and will now need to do more ahead of the second stanza of the league if they are to remain in the Egyptian top flight next season.
