Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu produced a decent display in the colours of Bordeaux as he was well involved in their goal that forced a 1-1 draw away at Saint Etienne, AOIFootball.com reports.
The 22-year-old started his 15th league game of the campaign for the visitors who also handed Nigerian striker Josh Maja a starting birth as they went in search of their first win in 4 games.
Both sides, however, failed to find the breakthrough in the opening first 45 minutes with the duo of Samuel Kalu and Laurent Koscielny entering the referee books for needless fouls.
Bordeaux, however, took the lead 5 minutes after the hour mark when the impressive Kalu wiggled his way past two markers on the flanks before his intending cross to Maja hit a Saint Etienne defender before the ball fell kindly to Maja who tucked hone for 1-0.
Their lead did last for just 3 minutes as the host equalized via the boots of Denis Bouanga as both teams shared the points.
