Former captain of the Olympic Eagles Okechukwu Azubuike has said that there is a huge competition in the Super Eagles fold but he will keep fighting hard to get a chance in the Gernot Rohr tutored team, AOIFootball.com reports.
Okechukwu, an Olympic Bronze medalist, who recently led the Olympic Eagles to the failed U23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tournament in Egypt last September, said that with the number of talents jostling for shirts in the Super Eagles, anyone with the intention to play in the team must work very hard and also be ready to take his chances whenever he is invited.
“The current Super Eagles team is so loaded with talents, and I must confess that only hard work can get any player in. I will continue to work harder to ensure I return to the team,” the Istanbul Basaksehir defensive midfielder told the Super Eagles Media team.
Okechukwu played his debut for the Super Eagles in Alexandria against host Egypt in 2016.
