Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme became the first player to score a goal after the Turkish Super Lig resumed proceedings when he netted his 11th goal of the season to help leaders Trabzonspor to a comfortable 3-1 win away at Goztepe, AOIFootball.com reports.

Having lost inspirational midfielder and former Eagles captain following a mutual termination, the visitors looked to strengthen their hold at the top of the table with the visit to Goztepe as they looked to stretch their unbeaten run to 18 games.

They however needed just 13 minutes to break the deadlock when powerful striker Nwakaeme showed plenty of strength to head home from close range as he headed home a Joao Pereira cross for 1-0.

Midfielder Caleb Ekuban then made it 2-0 from the spot on the 52nd minute before the hosts pulled one back via a penalty of their own when Alpaslan Ozturk converted from 12 yards.

Nwakaeme then made way on the 67th minute for Badou Ndiaye before Abdulkadir Omir ensured the win was wrapped up when he made it 3-1 six minutes from time to seal all 3 points.

The win now sees Trabzon remain at the summit of the log with 56 points whilst Nwakaeme finished the game with a rating of 7.3.
