Super Eagles forward Simy Nwankwo and his Crotone teammates will have to wait for another round of action in the Italian Serie B to seal promotion the Serie A following their comeback 1-1 draw at home to Salernitana on Friday night, AOIFootball.com reports.

The free-scoring attacker led the line for the host who needed an outright win and hopes other results go in their favour to ensure a quick passage back to the elite division with 3 games to spare.

They however found life difficult with just 40 seconds into the second half as the visitors took a shock lead via the boots of Fabio Maistro with Crotone starring at their first loss since February a run that stretches to 10 games.

The goal did prove to be a wake-up call for the wasteful host who found their way back into the game seven-minute later when Junior Messias equalized to make it 1-1.

The visitors were then reduced to 10 men but the host failed to make the most of it as they settled for a share of the points and delay their promotion by just 6 days.

Simy who was on from start to finish also failed to add to his 18 league strike but remained on course to clinch the golden boot with fellow contender Pietro Iemmello also firing blanks in the colors of Perugia.
