Super Eagles attacker, Alex Iwobi marked his first start of the season with a fantastic display as he scored one and assisted another to help Everton maintain their perfect start to the season following a comfortable 5-2 win away at Fleetwood, AOIFootball.com reports.
Having made his season debut last weekend, the Eagles midfielder was named in the starting XI by Carlo Ancelloti as Everton sought to extend their winning start to the campaign to four games.
The however had to wait till the 20th-minute mark to open the scoring when Richarlison concerted from fellow countryman Bernard to make it 1-0 before Iwobi then set up Richarlison four minutes after the half-hour mark to double Everton lead.
The hosts then pulled one back after the breakthrough substitute Mark Duffy then Iwobi restored his side’s two-goal lead with a smart finish off his left boot, sixty seconds later to give Everton a 3-1 lead.
Callum Camps, however, reduced the lead again for the host just before the hour mark to make it 3-2 but the visitors who were no in for any upset replied well with two late goals courtesy of Bernard and substitute Moise Kean to seal a 5-2 win.
Iwobi, who however missed out on the man of the match to brace Hero Richarlison, still finished with a huge rating of 8.2, completing 4 of his 7 dribbles, completing 89% of his passes, creating 4 big chances, winning 5 duels, and also hitting the woodwork once.
