Nigerian international, Anthony Nwakaeme scored his debut goal of the season to help Trabzonspor earn their first win of the campaign after a 3-1 win over Yeni Malatyaspor, AOIFootball.com reports.

With no win from their opening two league games, the hosts were desperate to earn their first win of the campaign with 31-year-old Nwakaeme names among the starting XI alongside DR Congo Benik Afobe who led the line.

The hosts however had to wait till after the 20th minute to take the lead when Benik Afobe opened the scoring before he then doubled their lead three minutes after the half-hour mark.

Nwakaeme then made it 3-0 going into the break with a fantastic finish as he dummied two players before unleashing a powerful drive which beat the goalkeeper at his near post to give Trabzonspor a comfortable lead going into the break.

The visitors then pulled one back with the goal proving to be a mare consolation as Nwakaeme made way after 78th minute with his side however going on to seal their first 3 points of the campaign.

Having hit double digits in terms of league goal last campaign, the one-time capped Eagle will be keen on replicating a similar performance for Trabzonspor which almost saw the club clinch the 2019/2020 title.
