Super Eagles Newman, Kevin Akpoguma has said that it won’t be business as usual when the team files out against African powerhouses Algeria and Tunisia, stating that both games will be approached with plenty of seriousness, AOIFootball.com reports.

The former Germany U-20 captain recently got his clearance to play for Nigeria and was a guest on the Super Eagles Instagram page, with Akpoguma expressing his joy to finally be a part of the Nigerian setup.

“I’m very excited to be here with the team. It’s something I have always wanted as a youth player and now finally to be able to represent Nigeria makes me feel very proud and special.

“For the games starting on Friday, it won’t be an easy one like the coach already said, it won’t be friendly as usual. It’s going to be a game of wits and pride and we are very much determined to come out victorious.

“We take it game by game; first against Algeria on Friday who are African champions and then Tunisia next week. Hopefully, I would get to play too,” Akpoguma concluded.

The 25-year-old will be seeking to make his Eagles debut having been granted international clearance by FIFA with Rohr having plenty of options to pick in the centre-back position.
