Super Eagles duo of Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong have but registered their displeasure over their lacklustre 4-4 draw at home to Sierra Leone on Friday, stating that the Eagles have learnt a bitter lesson from the encounter, AOIFootball.com reports.

Both players started in the heart of the defence as the Eagles cruise to a 4-0 lead after just 27 minute but a spirited second-half performance saw the Eagles defence capitulate as they let down 4 avoidable goals to share the spoils in Benin.

“Lesson to learn from last night (Friday), never let success get to your head and never let failure get to your heart. We will come out on top of this,” Balogun posted

“It is our Naija spirit to overcome and succeed. Hungry and ready for redemption Tuesday,” Ekong also posted.

The Eagles travel to Freetown for the return leg on Tuesday and could lose supremacy of group L should they fail to pick maximum point with second place the Benin Republic now just one point behind Nigeria following their 1-0 win over Lesotho.
