…Set to leave China

Nigerian striker, Anthony Ujah has revealed he has no regrets, after being out of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Ujah, who was formerly with Werder Bremen in the German top flight, Bundesliga, shocked everyone when he decided to join the bandwagon of players quitting football in Europe for the money spinning Chinese league.

The striker, who now plays for Liaoning Whowin F.C. said: “I needed to try something new because I had been in Europe for 6 years and wanted a new challenge; but I know it’s not going to be for a long time.”

A former Nigeria U-23 national team player, Ujah was part of the Super Eagles squad to the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, but he failed to prove himself. The striker was also given a second chance under Coach Sunday Oliseh, but that did not pan out well either.

He however admitted he still nurtures the hope of returning to the Super Eagles, if given the opportunity.

“I love my country and the Super Eagles. I hope to return to the team whenever the opportunity arises” said Ujah.
