Following the recent appointment of NFF President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick into the Organising Committee for Competitions of FIFA, one of the highest in the new 9 Standing Committees of the world football governing body, former Nigeria International, Mutiu Adepoju has said it is a welcomed development.
Pinnick who was a former member of the FIFA U-20 Organising Committee, was on Thursday appointed into the new 16-member Organising Committee for Competitions.
The committee will be in charge of all FIFA organised competitions and Adepoju says he sees Pinnick’s appointment as a great one and shows that the current FIFA leadership has high regard for Nigeria.
“It’s a wonderful appointment and I congratulate the NFF President. This clearly shows FIFA regards Nigeria as important in world football, hence the recent recognition accorded the country”, said Adepoju.
The former Super Eagles’ captain also charged Pinnick to ensure he represents the country very well.
“I believe in the ability of Pinnick, even as I hope he will give his very best and represent Nigeria very well”, Adepoju added.
