Former FC Barcelona defender, Gbenga Okunnowo, believes his former team are still La Liga title contenders despite dropping more points in the 1-1 draw against Real Betis at the weekend.

The defender, who featured for the Catalan Giants between 1998-2001, is optimistic Luis Enrique can tinker the team to lift the trophy as he has the right players that can turn things around.

“I know the way Barcelona work. If things go on well for them and turn around, they have the potential to win the remaining games and it’s still possible to see Real Madrid drop vital points. So, it’s not over yet; the fight for the title will go down the wire”, opined Okunnowo.

Real Madrid are still on top of the log. Zinedine Zidane’s side dispatched Real Sociedad 3-0 last Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu.
