Changchun Yatai newly signed forward, Odion Jude Ighalo has denied reports in the media, especially in Nigeria, that he is set to earn a whopping 200,000 pounds a week at the Chinese Super League club.
Ighalo made the clarification on a live radio program aoifootball.com monitored in Lagos on Thursday morning.
“Please help tell them back home, I don’t want any problem with my people. It is not true what people read and post on the internet that I am going to China to earn 200,000 pounds a week. It’s a blatant lie. I only said that it is a good package for me and very much better than what I was earning at Watford” clarified Ighalo.
Speaking further on his choice to leave London despite dismissing making such move last season, Ighalo, who scored 39 goals in all for Watford FC said:
“Well, sometimes what you wish in life may not come your way. I can’t blame anyone, not even the coach of Watford, Walter Mazarri for the recent lack of goals; may be it was due a change of playing style or so but I just have to move on. I really couldn’t stand sitting on the bench at Watford and I needed more playing time” Ighalo revealed.
