Nasarawa United Chairman, Danladi Isaac has admitted that the team is under pressure as a result of their poor run in the Nigeria Professional Football League matches.

He believes the Solid Miners’ victory over Umuahia-based club Abia Warriors FC was a huge confident booster which also lifted some burden off their shoulders.

“I think it is a massive boost and a confidence-builder for the team. Even the supporters were under serious pressure. It is good we won.”

“The boys actually played good football, good round football. In the league, there are some clubs that start very late and end up very well and some start very well and end up quite late and Nasarawa United by its tradition, always starts late and the moment we pick our pieces, we begin to make progress,” said Isaac.

Nasarawa United have won two matches in eight attempts in the current campaign with both victories at home.

They currently sit 11th on the log with 9 points and host Sunshine Stars at Lafia City Stadium, Lafia on Sunday.
