South Africa Football Association, SAFA, will name a new coach for the senior national team, Bafana Bafana this week AOIFootball.com can report.
SAFA parted ways with former coach Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba in December 2016 and have since interviewed and screened a number of top coaches for the plum job.
Latest reports emanating from SAFA indicate a new helmsman will be named after the list of shortlisted coaches was pruned down to five last week.
The list of those shortlisted comprises of 2017 Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach Hugo Broos, Herve Renard, Carlos Quieroz, Roy Hodgson and Stuart Baxter.
The shortlist was compiled by the panel set by SAFA which was made of former national team captains Benni McCarthy, Lucas Radebe and Neil Tovey.
South Africa engages Angola and Guinea Bissau in two international friendlies set to be played at the end of March, ahead of June 2019 Africa Cup of Nations clash against Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
