Super Sand Eagles’ top marksman, Abu Azeez, has expressed his optimism that Nigeria can qualify from the supposed tough group at the forthcoming FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Nissau, Bahamas later this year.

Speaking to‘s correspondent in Lagos, Abu Azeez said that with good preparations, he’s confident that the team can advance beyond the group phase.

“I think we can qualify for the next round with good preparations. Mexico is just coming to the World Cup for the first time and that should count for us. The Italians are also very good but we can also have it good based on our experience. For the Asian team, I am quite sure we can seal a qualification for the next round at their expense”, said a confident Azeez.

On the team’s preparedness for the April 27 to May 7 tourney, Abu Azeez said that they have to move into camp now to avoid being rusty and unfit.

No words yet from the federation on the team’s itinerary for the Bahamas tourney but Abu Azeez is optimistic about Nigeria’s positive showing at the 9th edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
