Rivers United midfielder, Esosa Igbinoba has said that his team was able to breeze past Al-Merriekh because they were too strong for their Sudanese CAF Champions League opponents last Sunday.

The former Nasarawa United midfield enforcer, who scored one of the 3 goals, stressed that his side pressed the Sudanese club from the blast of the whistle up until the last minute.

He added that Al-Meriekh did not give his side any headache in the game.

“We won them clearly because we were too strong for them; from the first to the last minute, we showed our strength and scored goals.”

“They did not give us any headache at all during the game as we controlled the pace of the game and pressed them for the whole 90 minutes,” concluded Igbinoba.
