As the Super Eagles prepare to face the Teranga Lions of Senegal and the Stallions of Burkina Faso, mercurial midfielder John Ogu reveals the mood in camp ahead of the double friendly.

“The mood in camp is great. Everyone is happy to see each other,” Ogu said.

The Super Eagles haven’t played since last November when they defeated Algeria 3-1 in a World Cup qualifier and John Ogu describes how the players are highly anticipating the games.

“Everyone is really looking forward to the game. We want to win these games to boost our chase to qualify for the World Cup. We are playing against a great football nation but we are looking forward to the game”.

Super Eagles have a 100% record under coach Gernot Rohr and Ogu maintains that winning is now in the players’ DNA.

“Yes, they are a must-win. We always want to win and winning gives confidence to the players and our country’s football. So, it is very important for us”.

There has been a frenzy in the Super Eagles camp with a good blend seen between the old players and the newbies in camp and John Ogu explains why.

“We are one big family and we have made it possible for them to settle in without wasting much time. Top lads we got here,” enthused Ogu.

John Ogu is known for having a strong winning mentality and the lanky midfielder maintains that winning remains the top priority against Senegal and Burkina Faso.

“I’m looking forward to playing with everyone in the team. We are all together here to win for our country”.
