Super Eagles winger Moses Daddy Simon was man of the match in the Jupiler league play offs as he bagged a brace in KAA Gent’s 2-1 win over Club Brugge.
Four Nigerians in Anderson Esiti, Moses Simon, William Troost-Ekong and Samuel Kalu were on from the start for Gent. Wesley scored for Brugge in the 8th minute as Gent’s defence failed to clear.
Kalu was cautioned in the 9th minute.
Simon drew his side level in the 25th minute with a superb volley from inside the box after a great cross from the right by Kalu found the Nigerian unmarked.
Simon got his second goal of the game from the spot at the end of the first 45 minutes to put his side in the lead going into the break.
While Simon goals put his side up in the game, numerically they were reduced to 10 men when his Nigerian compatriot Troost-Ekong was sent off for two bookable offences in a space of three minutes, in the 47th and 50th minute precisely.
Gent are now third on the log with 28 points.
