Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Salisu Yusuf has said that the technical crew will try to strike a balance anytime they are picking players for national assignment and will not consider just a few for invitation.

Salisu told only that the cases of some Super Eagles’ players not playing regularly for their clubs this season is among the vicissitudes of the beautiful game, as he noted that by this time last year, too many of our players that are regular in their teams now were not seeing action at their various clubs.

He noted further that players’ form nosedives at times and they also rediscover it but the most important thing is that the coaches are considering both the ones that playing now and those that are not.

“We have to understand that players’ form changes and consistently fluctuates. We have players that are in good form now and are playing for their clubs regularly.”

“Ironically, some of them who are regulars now were not even playing last year in their clubs.”

“The issue of players’ form changes but we will try to find a balance, that’s why when we played Senegal in London, we invited those playing regularly in their clubs. That was why we invited one from Austria, one from Portugal and even invited Isaac Success to see how we can blend those playing regularly and our mainstay players,” Yusuf explained.
