Sunshine stars of Akure have confirmed the appointments of former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguaveon and Ike Shoromu as Technical Adviser and goalkeeper trainer respectively.
Austin Eguavoen who led the Super Eagles to a third place finish in 2006 is expected to lead the Owena waves out of their struggles having spent a larger percentage of the first half of the season in the relegation zone.
Eguavoen revealed he had taken a paycut to join Sunshine stars because of his friend, Gbenga Elegbeleye, who was recently appointed as Chairman of Ondo State Football Association, ODSFA.

Eguavoen who has made a habit of walking away from his position due to “poor management” however pledged to honour his contract at Sunshine Stars this time around.

Austin Eguavoen has also promised to see out his contract with the Akure based side and hopes to help bring stability to the club has gathered.

He explained that bad management structure has been largely responsible for most of his exits but believes the structure on ground at Sunshine stars looks good enough and hope for a harmonious working relationship with everyone connected with the club.

Sunshine stars are currently placed 18th on the log, a far cry from their usual position in the top half.
