Osimhen came on for Sebastian Jung in the 76th minute.

Robin Knoche gave Wolfsburg the lead in the 23rd minute.

In the 32nd minute Filip Kostic equalised for Hamburg before substitute Gian-Luca Waldschmidt scored the winning goal on 88 minutes to give the home team the win.

Despite the loss, Mainz maintained their Bundesliga status after finishing in the 15th position on 37 points.

Jonas Hector and Yuya Osako were the scorers for Cologne in the 43rd and 87th minutes respectively.

Balogun, who started from the match, had to go off for Alexander Hack in the 18th minute in what is a suspected injury.

He is now a doubt for the Super Eagles friendly games against Corsica and Togo in a few days’ time.
