Super Eagles’ player, Mikel Agu has promised to repay Coach Gernot Rohr’s faith in selecting him for Nigeria’s all-important 2019 AFCON qualifier.

The midfielder, who was handed his first national team call-up last month, made an impressive debut against Togo in an international friendly match last month. That performance has also given him a place in the Super Eagles’ team to confront South Africa on Saturday.

Mikel Agu, who plays for Vitoria Setubal, thanked the Super Eagles manager during his official initiation ceremony into the national team by the rest of the squad.

“I want to thank the coach for giving me the opportunity to come into the national team so I can show my stuff”.

The outspoken Mikel Agu had a stellar year the Portuguese League with Vitoria Setubal, a performance that has not gone unnoticed by his parent club FC Porto who have handed him a recall to the first team.
