Watford’s Uche Agbo, who is on loan at Granada, has been named among the toughest tacklers under the age of 21 in European top leagues.

Though yet to don the Hornets’ shirt, Uche Agbo has been busy making his mark on opposition forwards in the La Liga in the just concluded season.

The 20-year-old Nigerian holding midfielder won 77 tackles in his 31 games for the relegated side last season, the fourth-highest number of any U-21 player in any of Europe’s top five leagues.

That list encompasses the Premier League, La Liga, the Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1, and only Bayer Leverkusen’s Benjamin Henrichs, Sampdoria’s Lucas Torreira and Dani Ceballos of Real Betis made more successful challenges.

Agbo won 66% of his attempted tackles during the season, too, the second-highest across the divisions, behind only Henrichs in the standings among many of Europe’s most promising youngsters.
