Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, has opened up on a possible return for former Super Eagles’ Captain Vincent Enyeama.

Speaking exclusively with from Kano were the home-based Super Eagles are currently preparing for a double header against Benin Republic, the German said:
“It’s unfortunate that Enyeama is injured and cannot play at the moment as will be out for 2 to 3 months. His club has bought two new goalkeepers, its finished for him at Lille.”

Rohr also posited that he is making his recovery now, and he is in touch with the Akwa Ibom-born goalkeeper. “The day he is fit and ready, the door is open for him, because we need the very best players, as the goalkeeping position is a very vital position,” said Rohr.

The Eagles’ handler added: “It’s unfortunate with the situation of Carl Ikeme who is sick for a long time, we miss him and we are keeping in touch for him to stay strong and win this fight.

“When he is fit, hopefully we can have him for the World Cup. At the moment we must work with the goalkeepers we have.”
