Coach of relegation threatened Abia Warriors, Abdullahi Biffo, has said the fate of his team’s survival in the Nigeria Professional Football League solely lies in their hands.
Speaking to on his team’s arrival in Umuahia, Biffo said: “Hard work and dedication was the key to our 4–2 win over Lobi Stars in Makurdi; we knew they had weaknesses, we studied it and my boys perfected it on the pitch and victory was the outcome.”
Biffo said his team are well known for creating chances, but have come short when they go on the road, especially as results have not been favourable to them.
He also posited that the teams need to be optimistic at the stage because “we don’t need to rely on any team to win or lose for us to survive; we must take the matches as they come, we have three home games and two away games, so I strongly believe our destiny is in our hands.
”I can assure the fans of Abia Warriors that there is no cause for alarm; we have the quality to stay up in the league and we are confident of surviving the drop,” he assured.
Abia Warriors are just a point above the relegation zone and currently occupy the 12th position with 44 points from 33 games.
