The Remita Corporate Championship Cup, popularly known as RC3, will commence on Saturday August 12, and feature winners and runners up of various sector-based competitions across Nigeria’s corporate clime covering banking, telecoms, insurance, and FMCG.
The knockout based tournament will hold at the Sports Pavilion of Yaba College of Technology for a period of three weeks.
The Managing Director of SystemSpecs, owners of Remita, John Obaro promised that his company would make the championship bigger in the future.
Obaro said, “SystemSpecs is pleased to be associated with this competition which encourages professionals in the corporate world to maintain the balance between work and life.
“This is particularly because, as an organisation, we know it is vital to the continued progress of our country.”
Jimmy Sogbesan, Chief Operating Officer of MediaVision, organisers of the football fiesta, hailed the progress of the tournament.
He said, “As always, this edition of RC3 will provide a competitive yet friendly platform for professionals, their families and brands across various sectors of the economy to bond.”
Former Super  Eagles goalkeeper Peter Rufai, who is the ambassador of the tournament, commended SystemSpecs,  owners of Remita, for sponsoring the competition.
“With all that is on the  ground, the 2017 edition of RC3 will  be more exciting than  others in the past,” the Tunisia ’94 Africa Cup of Nations winner said at the draw ceremony.
“Nigerians across the length and breadth of this nation should expect nothing short of football at its best from all participating corporate teams.”
IHS qualify for the tournament as football champions of the 6th edition of the Nigeria Telecoms Games. IHS emerged champions after defeating defending champion, MTN in a highly thrilling Final played on 24th September 2016.
