SHARE can confirm that FC Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper and Captain of the Home-based Super Eagles, Ikechukwu Ezenwa will be the man between the posts on Friday when the Super Eagles take on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon after Chippa United of South Africa goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi was ruled out due to injury.

Akpeyi, who has been deputising in goal since the absence of first choice goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, has been embattled since the 2-0 of Nigeria to South Africa in a AFCON qualifier last June.

Ezenwa has been a strong part of the Super Eagles since 2015 when he was called up by former coach Sunday Oliseh.

The Beijing 2008 silver medalist will be beaming with confidence after his heroic display against Benin Republic in Kano, where he saved a decisive penalty.

The game against Cameroon will be Ezenwa’s first competitive match for the senior national team.

No goalkeeper has been called up yet, with Akpeyi still remaining with the team.
