Home-based Super Eagles’ duo of Emmanuel Ariwachukwu and team Captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa are confident Nigeria would defeat Guinea in their second group match of the ongoing WAFU Nations Cup.
The confident duo told in a exclusive interview in Ghana, that the team will bounce back from a disappointing goalless draw against Mali last Thursday, and take all three points later this afternoon.
The defender said: “We are very optimistic ahead of today’s game; we are condemned to beat them because we know Nigerians back home expect the best from us.”
The Eagles’ defender,  who can also play as a right- back or defensive midfielder, also posited:
“We have the wining mentality and will power to deliver the trophy back home to Nigeria. We are here to take home the trophy and by the grace of God, we will do it, I believe it’s possible”.
Joining his teammate, Captain of the team, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, said:
“The team is fully focused ahead of this afternoon’s game; we know how important the three points are and we will go all out for it.”
Ezenwa, who as been a savior for the home- based team in recent games, urged Nigerians to pray for the team ahead of the match.
Nigeria will square up against Guinea in their second group game in Cape Coast by 4pm Nigerian time.
The Salisu Yusuf lead team are currently third with one point, two points behind leaders Ghana, who face Mali after the Eagles’ match.
