Eagles line up versus Cameroon in Yaounde

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to begin camping on the 2nd of October ahead of the must-win World Cup qualifier against the Chipolopolo of Zambia in Uyo on October 7.

This much was revealed exclusively to by Media Officer of the team, Toyin Ibitoye in Abuja.

He said: “Our preparation and plan is not a difficult one as we would be camping from October 2 officially and the game will be played on October 7 in Uyo, bearing any last minute changes.”

“Since most of the players coming are foreign-based and their clubs are not obliged to release them until five days before the game, the Super Eagles will not have the luxury of preparations like the Zambian’s who use mostly home-based players to prosecute their matches and can close and reopen their league anytime.

“But Nigerians should not be scared because come 7th of October, the Super Eagles soar past the Zambians,” Ibitoye assured.

Mr. Ibitoye further revealed that in a few weeks, the list of players for the all-important game would be released by the team’s handlers.

“In a few weeks, the list of players for the game will be out, so Nigerians can begin to know who is coming and who is not. But by and large, we are happy we have a bunch of players we can rely upon, just like you saw against Cameroon,” Ibitoye added.

He also said that the team is happy with the return of Arsenal star, Alex Iwobi, who missed the double header against Cameroon.

The Super Eagles just need a point to become the first African team to qualify for the World Cup in Russia next year.
