The Nigeria football Federation (NFF) has dismissed speculations in the media that oil giants Aiteo have pulled out of the sponsorship deal it signed with it.

First Vice President of the NFF, Barr Seyi Akinwunmi, who is also a member of the Nigeria Football Federation Executive Committee, told in Abuja that the news is false and should be disregarded.

“I can tell you that it’s a lie. I don’t have much to say on this, but whoever is spreading the news should come out and tell the world who told them the deal is off.

“As far as we at the NFF and Aiteo are concerned, the deal is still on and we can assure Nigerian fans not to panic,” Akinwumi said.

Akinwunmi also added that both the NFF and the Oil and Gas Company will respect the terms of their contract and see it till the end.

“We have an agreement with Aiteo and they have not informed us of plans to abandon the deal, but if you have any other information contrary to what we know, let us know about it.”

The Nigeria Football Federation signed a five-year N2.5 billion sponsorship deal with the oil and gas company in April.
