Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Mr. Gernot Rohr, has revealed exclusively to in Abuja, that he would grace this weekend’s Aiteo Cup final between Akwa United and Niger Tornadoes at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

The Franco-German, who was at the Nigeria Football Federation headquarters on Wednesday, assured Nigerians to expect an explosive cup final come Sunday.

“I was here today (Wednesday) to speak with the leadership of the NFF about the last game and the next one against Algeria because we want to also win the game too. We are happy we have qualified, but we must approach the Algeria game like the rest and maintain our unbeaten run in the qualifiers.

“I will also be in Lagos over the weekend, obviously it’s going to be a very big occasion (the Aiteo Cup) which is Nigeria’s biggest and oldest cup competition, so it will be an honour to grace the event,” Rohr said.

When asked if he was on the lookout for any player in the final match, Rohr said he will always welcome good and quality players to the Super Eagles, regardless of where they ply their trade.

“I have Ifeanyi and Aremu who are with the CHAN team and trained with us in Uyo ahead of the Zambia match, so they will both play for Akwa United in the final so it will be a very good game to watch, I hope,” Rohr concluded.

Akwa United will host Niger Tornadoes at the Agege Stadium in Lagos on Sunday with the winner earning a chance to represent Nigeria at the CAF Confederations Cup next season.
