Super Eagles’ winger Moses Simon scored his first league goal of the season as KAA Gent forced home side, KV Kortrijk to a 1-1 draw at the Guldensporen Stadion, AOIFootball.com reports.
The winger, who grabbed an assist last week, opened scoring in the 60th minute when he calmly controlled a pass on his left foot before smashing a low drive past the stretching goalkeeper to put his side 1-0 up and scoring his first goal this season in the Belgian league.
However, Gent were pecked back when substitute, Herve Kage equalised just four minutes after coming on to deny them their first back-to-back victory of the season.
The former As Trencin star was not the only Nigerian on parade as three others were in action. Former Flying Eagles’ star, Abdul Ajagun was on from start to finish for the home team while, while the duo of Samuel Kalu, who could not add to his two goals’ last week and Anderson Esiti, also featured for Gent in the encounter.
The results now leaves KAA Gent 12th on the log with 10 points from 11 games and only leads Ajagun’s Kortrijk who are 13th with the same number of points on goal difference.
