Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr, is expected to invite as much as 30 players for the team’s showdown between the Fennec Foxes of Algeria and the Le Albiceleste of Argentina on the 10 and 14 of November, respectively.

This much was revealed to by a member of the Super Eagles’ backroom staff who asked to remain anonymous.

The source said the Franco – German coach wants to take both games seriously as he wants to build a formidable team before the World Cup.

Argentina has already released the names of foreign-based players who are expected to play in the game.
The source said:

“Yes, some players are currently injured and the coach is keeping tabs on all of them and he is hoping they all recover before the games next month.

“It’s going to be an enlarged squad of players, but barring injuries or failure to recover on time, all top names are going to be on the list of players, because the game against Argentina will help us see how far we have come.

“The likes of Victor Moses, Leon Balogun, John Obi Mikel, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, among others, are going to be in the team for the game. Some will play against Algeria while others are going to be for the Argentina game,” the source added.

With Argentina Coach Jorge Sampoli naming a very strong squad for the clash which include top stars like Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria, Sergio Aguero, Paulo Dyabala and Mauro Icardi, the Super Eagles cannot afford to name a an under strength squad for the clash which comes just four days after the dead rubber 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria.

The list of players to prosecute the matches will be out soonest as the Head coach of the national team is expected in Nigeria next weekend, the source also hinted.
